John McConachy, was born in 1815, was the same age as his eldest brother’s first son.
John (TS) was the son of Thomas McConachy senior, and the other John (TB) was the son of Thomas McConachy junior. The two John McConachys were brought up together in Claudy.
In 1838, 23-year-old John McConachy (TB) went to America to seek a new life. In 1841 he returned to marry his sweetheart Jane Connell and then returned to West New Jersey in America.
In 1838, 23-year-old John McConachy (TS) married Jane McGuiness and three years later in 1841, he sailed for Australia to make his new life.
The two John McConachys never met again but, in 1994 contact was made with the descendants of the American John McConachy
